ARTICLE I NAME AND PURPOSE Section 1. The name of this organization shall be ROGUE GARDENERS OF JOSEPHINE COUNTY Section 2. The objectives of this organization shall be a. Support our Community b. Support our members in temporary need c. Provide members a rewarding and enjoyable social environment d. To promote, support and execute fund raising projects throughout the year, such funds to be used primarily for gardening, community and social activities e. To engage in other activities related to gardening that are consistent with the Operating Guidelines of this organization ARTICLE II TYPE OF ORGANIZATION AND AFFILIATION Section 1. This is a not for profit organization. The organization shall be financially and otherwise self supporting by virtue of dues, fund raising activities and donated labor by members or individuals associated with members. Section 2 This organization has affiliations with various organizations and businesses in Josephine County. ARTICLE III MEMBERSHIP Section 1. There shall be two classes of membership: ACTIVE and HONORARY. Section 2. Active Membership: Active members are encouraged to participate in Club Activities and pay annual dues. Section 3. Honorary Membership: Individuals who enrich our community and gardening environment Section 4 Annual dues shall be determined at the October Rogue Gardeners of Josephine County monthly meeting.. Dues are payable January 1 of each year and cover January 1 through December 31. If payment is not received by March 1, member will be considered a non member. If joining on October 1 through December 31, dues will extend through the next calendar year. ARTICLE IV GOVERNING BODY Section 1. The governing body of this organization shall consist of the following: Club Chairman, Project Chairman, Social Activities Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer. Section 2. Duties of the Club Chairman shall be to provide leadership to this organization, preside over all meetings, make appointments and perform duties normally referred to the Club Chairman. Section 3. Duties of the Project Chairman are to support the Club Chairman and to preside over all meetings and activities in the absence of the Club Chairman and perform such duties as assigned by the Club Chairman. In the event of a vacancy in the office of the Club Chairman, the Project Chairman shall immediately succeed that office. The Project Chairman will support project team leaders to ensure they have the resources to succeed. Section 4. Duties of the Social Activities Chairman shall be to support the organization, and succeed to the office of the Project Chairman if a vacancy should occur for the duration of that term. The Social Activities Chairman is responsible for the coordination of all social activities Section 5. Duties of the Secretary shall include keeping records of monthly meetings and other activities of this organization, coordinating communication and maintaining permanent records Section 6. The Treasurer is responsible for keeping the Rogue Gardeners of Josephine County's financial records, receiving and disbursing funds in accordance with the Club Chairman's directions and maintaining the dues-paying membership roster. Section 7. The Board gives approval to open and maintain a Business account at Northwest Community Credit Union. The positions of Club Chairman, ( John E Farias ), Treasurer, ( Julie Kaszuba ) and Project Chairman, ( Peter Pernarelli ) have signers authority. To make any changes to the account including signing authority takes a two thirds board approval. ARTICLE V MEETINGS Section 1. Meetings shall be held monthly unless the general membership is notified otherwise. General membership must be notified of the date, time and place of all meetings, including special review and /or planning meetings. Section 2. An annual planning meeting will be held each each October to review strategies, organizational status, programs of major events, budget and social activities. Recommendations will be presented in November's meeting for members' review and approval. Section 3. Meetings will generally follow the Robert's Rules of Order. |
Member Expectations We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, age or national origin. Active members are encouraged to participate in Club activities and are required to pay annual dues. The purpose is to balance work required with labor resources so that all members feel that they are a valuable contributor.
